“He’s just been so supportive,” Rizzo told the outlet. “Since day one, that’s just been such a big thing with him. He knew what I went through, and he appreciated it and accepted it — and always likes to talk about Bob.”

In having conversations with Meyer, who Rizzo said asks questions about Saget, she noted that it is comforting to talk about her late husband and know Meyer is open to doing so.

“It’s never like, ‘Oh, I don’t wanna mention Bob. I don’t want Breckin to feel bad about that,'” she said. “He’s just always been so kind about it. It’s been really special. It’s really nice that I’ve been able to move forward with him.”

“It’s pretty impossible not to like Breckin,” Rizzo said. “He’s met Bob’s girls multiple times. We’ve had dinners together. They adore him. He adores them. It’s been really, really nice. They’ve kind of welcomed him.”

Moving on after the loss of Saget was difficult for Rizzo, and she said she thinks Meyer, who she has beendating since February 2024, is one of the few people “Bob would be okay” she brought into her life.

“He’s like, ‘Alright, I’m not thrilled about any of this, but it’s got to be somebody, let it be Breckin,’” she joked.

In October 2023, theComfort Foodpodcast hostspoke to PEOPLEabout how she celebrates Saget in her daily life and if she will ever take a step back from honoring his legacy.

“I think that for as long as I live, I’m always going to want to be celebrating Bob and talking about Bob,” Rizzo said. “It makes me happy to talk about him. And obviously, you have to live your life and you have to move forward. You have to go about doing your thing.”

“I wouldn’t want to be only that he found me because of all the other things that I do,” she added. “That’s how he found me in the first place because of my career in food and travel and music and all that. So I know he would want me to continue to do that.”
