While appearing on the latest episode of Ruth Rogers’Ruthie’s Table 4podcast, Thomas, 64, confirmed that she has tied the knot. Rogers first confirmed the news in the introduction to their conversation, saying: “Kristin is basking in love and the joy of just a few weeks ago marrying the editor and my friend John Micklethwait.” Micklethwait is the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg.
Later in the episode, when discussing her showSlow Horses, Thomas shared a few details about her nuptials with her now-husband, 62.
The actress went on to reveal that her wedding took place in Rutland, England, where Micklethwait’s family is from. She described the delicious food that was served, including a British classic — coronation chicken — as well as the touchingly sentimental wedding gift she received from her sister.
“For my wedding present, my sister got all the family recipes that my mother had collected from my great grandmother in Scotland to the other one in wherever, I mean, all over the place,” said Thomas, who loves to cook. “And scanned them all and made them all into a book, photographed them, and then gave us all a book.”
Last month,The Independentreported that the couple told their friends they tied the knot in September at a wedding with just their families. Thomas and Micklethwait had reportedly been dating for five years.
“They are a perfect match. Both smart, wry and curious as well as devoted to each other,” a friend told the outlet. “Everyone is delighted that they have got married after a wonderful five-year romance.”
