Lauren London's 2 Children: All About Kameron and Kross

Lauren London’s children, Kameron Carter and Kross Ermias Asghedom, have motivated her throughout her career.

London welcomed her first son, Kameron, with rapperLil Waynein 2009. Then, in 2016, she had another son, Kross, with her partnerNipsey Hussle. In March 2019, when Kross was only 2½ years old,his father was killedoutside of his Los Angeles clothing store. TheVictory Laprapper was 33 years old.

After Hussle (born Ermias Asghedom) was killed, London took the time to grieve. But she also made a pointto focus on her career againwhen the time felt right and her sons were supportive.

“We can’t stop, you know?” London toldEntertainment Tonightin 2021. “We do have a purpose, all of us, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I curled up in a ball for a long time.”

The actress — whose first role after Hussle’s death was in the movieWithout RemorseoppositeMichael B. Jordan— toldEntertainment Tonightthat she wanted to keep moving forward with her career, particularly for Kameron. “[H]e’s just a little more aware,” she said of her older son. “But we will continue moving on as we had to, as he [Hussle] would want us to.”

London continues to honor Hussle in interviews and on her social media — she also often posts about her kids. A little over a year after Hussle’s death, Londonshared her gratitude for motherhood on Instagram. “The absolute Honor of being their Mother. This Love has saved me. Peace to all the mommas,” London wrote under a photo of her sons embracing.

Though it’s rare she shares photos of them online, London did post a selfie with Kameron and Kross onInstagramin honor of Mother’s Day 2024. She wrote, “I’m just the portal. They are constant reminders of God’s Love. Pure Heart Balm.Honored to be their Mommy.”

Kameron Carter, 15

London and rapper Lil Wayne welcomed their son Kameron Carter on Sept. 9, 2009. When he was 1½, theYou Peoplestar spoke about her child while on the red carpet at anEssencemagazine event.

“I look at him sometimes, and it’s like ‘what did I do to deserve you?’ " she toldRolling Out. “He’s amazing. He’s everything. Out of everything in the world, that is my purpose. This [my career] is great.” The actress continued, “But that little boy right there is the reason I was born, for sure.”

Kameron has also started to attend his own events. In July 2022, Kameronwent to the ESPY Awardswith his father and walked the red carpet. The father and son duo have also beenspotted watching a basketball game.

During a cute moment on the podcastAll About the Smoke,just as the rapper was starting the episode, hereceived a call from his son Kameronto say goodnight. “I’m so sorry, one second,” he said to the host. “That’s Killa, that’s Kam, he’s going to sleep.” Lil Wayne picked up the call and said, “Goodnight boy, l love you.”

Kameron also had a relationship with Hussle, whohis mom started dating in 2013. At Hussle’s memorial in April 2019, 9-year-oldKameron told a storyabout seeing the late rapper in a dream.

“I was in a paradise and I was playing in the ocean water when Ermias popped up right behind me. He said, ‘What up killa,’ ‘cause that’s my nickname to him,” Kameron shared. “I turned around and I yelled his name and I gave him a hug.” He added, “I told my mom about the dream and after I told her I was thinking about it. And I realized that Ermias told me what heaven was like. He told me it was paradise.”

In November 2023, London opened up about parenting through her grief and giving Kameron space in his teenage years.

“I’ve been extremely open with them about the grief process as much I can. I’m more compassionate now as a mother,” London said ontheTodayshow. “I have a teenager now so I’m doing some inner child teenager work as well.”

In the yearssince Hussle’s death, London has continued to honor him. OnFather’s Day in June 2019, she shared a photo of herself, Hussle and Kross, writing, “One of the reasons I fell in Love with You…. Your Fatherhood. Today we celebrate You. Love you Ermias.” (Hussle also has a daughter,Emani Asghedom, from a previous relationship.)

In August 2021, theThis Christmasactressposted about Hussle’s birthdayon Instagram and said that Kross had given her a sweet reminder. “Happy Birthday My King!” she wrote. “I Love You Today and Forever Missing you is just apart [sic] of my DNA and I wear it with honor. Kross reminded me that you are ‘36’ like me.”

The next year, Hussle was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Kross was in attendance with his mother. He also made a public appearance with his family members two years earlier at the BET Awards when Hussle was posthumouslygiven the humanitarian award.
