LeBron Jamesis throwing his support behindKamala Harris.
The Los Angeles Lakers starshared his endorsementof the Democratic presidential candidate on social media on Thursday, Oct. 31, alongside a video montage featuringDonald Trump’s racist and xenophobic rhetoric.
“What are we even talking about here??” James, 39, wrote. “When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!”
The short video begins with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe — who drew widespread ire aftercalling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City last Sunday — making a joke about Black people and watermelons.
“That’s one of my buddies, we had fun, we carved watermelons together,” Hinchcliffe said at the rally.

In between, images of the Civil Rights movement and Black Lives Matter protests are intermingled with people waving Confederate flags, while Trump can be overheard in a compilation of moments in which he seemingly encouraged violence.
The video concludes with the words, “Hate Takes Us Back,” after showing a clip of Trump’s appearance onLarry King Livein 1989 in which he discussed the Central Park Five — now known as the Exonerated Five.
“Of course I hate these people, and let’s all hate these people, because maybe hate is what we need,” Trump told King.
The basketball superstar has been outspoken in the past about his political beliefs, and has supported former presidentBarack Obama,Hillary ClintonandJoe Bidenin the past.
In a 2018 ESPN interview after which conservative journalistLaura Ingrahamfamously implored him to “shut up and dribble,” James shared his disapproval of Trump.
