While appearing onTodayon Friday, Nov. 22, the actress, 38, opened up about her day-to-day activities as a mom to sonLuai, 18 months, with husbandBader Shammas. In addition to eating breakfast together, Lohan shared the one activity she’s done with Luai every day since he was born.
“I have this thing,” she explained to co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. “Since my son was born, I take a picture of him every single morning the second he wakes up. And I like can’t miss it, so I need to be on his schedule.”

Asked, “What are you going to do with all those pictures?” The proud mom shared, “I don’t know, I was just talking about that with my husband.”
“The other day he’s like ‘You know there’s like thousands of them,’ " she recalled. “And then he’s like, ‘You’re going to have to do that for the next kid too, right?’ I’m like, well that’s a whole other story!”
Earlier in the interview, Kotb and Bush Hager asked Lohan about her new-found “sparkle” they’ve noticed coming from withinThe Parent Trapstar. “I think a lot of it has to do with becoming a mom,” Lohan shared.

“It’s just a whole new world, and every day is exciting in a different way with my son,” she continued. “Yeah, I think definitely when you’re good on the inside, that shows through.”
As Luai enters his second year, PEOPLE asked Lohan in September what life milestones she was looking forward to.
