Love Is Blind’s Marshall Glaze and Fiancée Chay Barnes Break Up Less Than a Year After Getting Engaged (Exclusive)

Love Is BlindalumMarshall Glazehas split from fiancée Chay Barnes, PEOPLE can confirm.

“You know, it’s okay. Things happen and we’re not ruling each other out. Time will only tell,” he shared. “She understands that, I understand it, and we’re just going forward.”

Glaze added that the pair’s relationship was a “very positive experience.”

Glaze was first introduced to fans on season 4 ofLove Is Blind, which was based in Seattle. He split from fiancéeJackie Bondsnot long after they left the pods on the show, and later introduced Barnes onAfter the Altarin September 2023.

During the episode, he and Barnes met up with costars Tiffany and Brett Brown at a local bar. When Barnes stepped away for a moment, Glaze confided in Brett, telling him, “I do know that’s who I want. That’s who I wanna spend my life with.”

“First person I want to call is her, and that says something,” he added of Barnes, who is a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. “I just feel it. I’m happy, man. I’m extremely happy.”

As the couple marked their first anniversary together last July, they reflected on their strong bond ina joint Instagram post.

“One year of laughing, crying, adjusting, communicating, healing…” they wrote. “Our journey to where we are today is a testament of resilience and unconditional love for one another. Cheers to Year One and cheers to many more.”

In December 2023, Glaze and Barnes announced they were engaged after Glaze popped the question just days before Christmas. One of hisLove Is Blindseason 4 costars,Irina Solomonova, who runs an event planning company, also helped him pull off the romantic moment.
