A SlovakianMacklemorefan got more than she bargained for when she joined the “Thrift Shop” rapper on stage last weekend.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, the 41-year-old Grammy winner played a set at Bratislava’s Lovestream Festival when he decided to bring up a fan named Samantha during his performance of “Downtown,” perfan-shot footagefrom the fest.
The national police force shared on Monday, Aug. 19, in a post roughly translated to English, that a woman was chosen to sing with “one of the foreign performers” during the event, sharing an image of the woman and Macklemore on stage. As it noted, she eventually “immortalized this experience and bragged about it” on social media.

While the Slovak Republic Force did not reveal what the woman was wanted for or what the extent of her prison sentence was,TMZandRolling Stoneboth report (citing local media) that she was previously fined for running shirtless on the field at a 2019 soccer match.NMEnotes, citing Slovokian publicationPlus 7, that she was fined €800 following a 2019 run-in with the law.
Elsewhere during Macklemore’s performance last weekend, the crowd was “evacuated” as it “rained as hard as rain can fall” with lightning appearing during the festival, the rapper wrote to Instagram after the show.
“Just as we had given up hope the festival informed us they were letting the people back in. I’m sure some went home, but from my eye 25,000 beautiful drenched humans resumed in their places with spirits as charged as the lightening [sic] in the distance,” he wrote after the fest. “We had come too far to turn back and the weather gods gave us a window.”
“Something about a show almost getting canceled makes you appreciate every moment on stage even more,” he added. “Gratitude ensues and it reverberated throughout the entire festival. We were alive, soaked and gave it everything. I love you Bratislava. I will never forget our night together.”
