Matthew Perry’s L.A. Home Where He Died Sells for $8.5 Million One Year After His Death

The Los Angeles home whereMatthew Perrydied has sold for $8.55 million, PEOPLE can confirm.

It was sold in an off-market deal nearly one year after theFriendsstar’s death on Oct. 28, 2023. The property, located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of L.A., features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and is spread out across 3,500 square feet, according to theNew York Times.

At the time of his death, a source told PEOPLE exclusively that the beloved actorhad just made renovationsto the house and that he “was incredibly happy” there. Perry referred to his home as “heaven,” the source added.

Another home belonging to the actor, located in Hollywood Hills, waslisted for salein May 2024 for $5.2 million. Property records indicate that it was purchased in June 2023, just four months before Perry’s death.

It was revealed in the autopsy thatcontributing factors in the actor’s deathincluded drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects (a medication used to treat opioid use disorder).

In May 2024, authorities launched a formal investigation to determinewhere the actor got the powerful medication, as the level found in Perry’s blood was equal to the amount that would be used during general anesthesia, according to the autopsy report.

In August, five people werecharged and arrested in connection with Perry’s death,including two doctors, a woman known as “The Ketamine Queen” and Perry’s personal live-in assistant.
