In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE ahead of the annual awards show on Wednesday, Sept. 11, the rapper, 29, reveals what she is looking forward to most about the music-centric event.
“I’m excited to change clothes 500 times. I’m excited to perform. I’m excited to see all the Hotties,” Megan says.
“I love New York, I can’t wait to be there again and eat all the food, and I’m excited for people to see what I bring to the table while hosting,” the Grammy winner adds.

At the event, the “Savage” musician is nominated for five awards, including best collaboration for “Wanna Be” withGloRilla, as well as best hip-hop, best visual effects, best direction and best art direction for “Boa.”

Pointing to herrecently released Pepsi ad— which is her first with the soda brand and features various NFL stars, includingTravis KelceandJosh Allen— Megan tells PEOPLE that partnership and hosting the VMAs are both “very iconic moments” in her career.
“I’m like, ‘OK, now you all better stop acting like I’m not famous around here because I’m doing all the things,’ " Megan says with a laugh. “This is going to be so iconic, and it’s going to be great. I can’t wait for everybody to see it.”
