MLB Star Paul Skenes Shares Sweet Tribute to Girlfriend Olivia Dunne on Her 22nd Birthday

The Pittsburgh Pirates rookie pitcher posted a carousel of images of himself with the LSU gymnast, who he’s been dating since last summer, to celebrate Dunne’s 22nd birthday on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

“Happy Birthday Liv,” Skenes wrote in the short-but-sweet caption, adding a classic red heart emoji.

In the first image of Skenes' post, Dunne is seen hugging him after a Pirates game, while wearing knee-high boots customized with her boyfriend’s jersey. Skenes also included a shot from when he supported Dunne at a gymnastics meet, plus a red carpet photo of them at the MLB All-Star Game and a cute shot of Dunne dozing in the backseat of a car with their puppy Roux.

Dunne and Skenes met through mutual acquaintances as student-athletes at LSU. They first sparked dating rumors when Dunne was seenwearing his jerseyat the College World Series in June 2023.

Two months later, Skenesconfirmed his relationshipwith the gymnast during an interview with thePittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Skenes and Dunne have been supportive partners to one another since they started their relationship.

When the Pirates pitcher made the MLB’s All-Star roster as a rookie earlier this season, Dunnecelebrated his historic selectionwith pizza and champagne. According toCNN, Skenes' selection made him the first MLB player to earn an All-Star nod the season after getting drafted first overall.

Dunne walked the red carpet at the MLB’s 2024 All-Star Game alongside her beau in July.

The LSU gymnast dazzled in a sparkly halter dress while Skenes looked dapper in a light gray suit and sunglasses, and Dunne even joined Skenes for an on-camera interview with the MLB Network during the red carpet appearance.

And when Dunne won theNCAA gymnastics championshipwith LSU in April, she told PEOPLE that Skenes was the first person she called to celebrate the victory.

“I just wanted to fill him in on what just happened because I know he just won a national championship at LSU,” Dunne said at the time. “He understands all the feelings so I just wanted to call him and just tell him what it was like.”
