Moana 2Trailer: Moana and Maui Set Sail on an Epic Ocean Adventure with New and Familiar Faces

Moana has another adventure ahead.

Auli’i Cravalho’s hero returns in the new trailer forMoana 2, which debuted as part of D23 on Aug. 9 and also showsDwayne Johnson’s Maui back in the picture. Cravalho also sang the new song “We’re Back” from the film at the event.

The sequel, a followup to 2016’sMoana, is set three years after her first voyage, and Moana is “on an expansive journey in search of people beyond the shores of Motunui,” per a synopsis.

The cast also features Rachel House (Moana’s Grandma Tala), Temuera Morrison (Moana’s father Chief Tui) and Nicole Scherzinger (Moana’s mother Sina), plus Hualālai Chung, David Fane and Rose Matafeo, Awhimai Fraser, Gerald Ramsey and Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Moana’s little sister Simea.

Disneyannounced the sequeltoMoanain February, andthe first teaser trailer arrived in May.Moanais also set toreceive a live-action adaptation, currently scheduled for release in 2026.

Cravalho, 23, recently told PEOPLE what to expect for her character in the animated sequel: “She’s growing. She is pushing herself noweven further beyond the reef.”

In the nearly eight years since the first movie’s release, Cravalho said she “felt like I grew right along with” Moana.

“The recording booth is truly my happy place, and [I’m grateful to] come back to this character that I know so well, but also take her on a completely different journey,” said theMean Girlsstar.

Moana 2is in theaters Nov. 27.
