Berks County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Theresa Johnson also reportedly described the murders as the most violent she had seen in her career.

She also stated that Snyder had shown no remorse for her actions.

The victims' 22-year-old brother, Owen, described Snyder as a “monster,” adding that he no longer views her as his mother.

PEOPLE previously reported that Snyder had told authorities that her son wanted to die after getting bullied at school. She also told police that he didn’t want to die alone.

However, family members debunked the claim, with school staff members testifying that Conner was never bullied and showed no signs of being suicidal.

Snyder also initially claimed that she called the police after finding her two children hanging in the basement from the opposite ends of the same dog lead.

Meanwhile, prosecutors found that evidence revealed the defendant had bought the dog lead the day before the murders at a local Walmart.

“We are very pleased with the verdict,” Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams previously told PEOPLE following the defendant’s guilty verdict. “It’s something that will probably never leave our minds, because it was unimaginable. None of us could ever have imagined the brutality and the horrific loss of life. We’re very pleased that Lisa Snyder will never see the light of day and will spend the rest of her life in jail where she belongs.”
