Looking for a quick read? A new study has identified the fastest viral page-turners, and favorites like Rick Riordan and Kiera Cass top the list.

Aura Printrecently researched which ofGoodReads’ most popular books are the quickest and slowest to finish.

Her fourth installment in the seriesA Court of Frost and Starlight, took second place in the fastest reads category, clocking in at 4 hours in order to get through about 60,000 words.

While Maas may have topped the list for quick reads with those two books, shealsoheads the list for slowest books to read with the first book in her bestsellingCrescent CityseriesHouse of Earth and Blood. That book, which follows half-Fae and half-human Bryce Quinlan as she uncovers the mystery surrounding a death of a loved one, rounded out a read time of about 13 hours and 36 minutes for approximately 204,000 words.

Her third installment of the ACOTAR series,A Court of Wings and Ruin, and ACOTAR spinoff bookA Court of Silver Flamestook third and second place on the list of slowest books to read, respectively, with read times topping over 12 hours. The first book in the ACOTAR series is also a big one to get through, clocking in at over 7 hours.

One of Maas’ books from her fantasy seriesThrone of GlasscalledCrown of Midnightmade it onto the list, as well. The second installment follows assassin Celaena Sardothien as she navigates being in the royal court after winning a tournament to become the royal assassin.

Kiera Cass’The Selection, which follows a 16-year-old girl as she is selected to live in the palace and win the heart of a prince despite her wishes, andRick Riordan’sThe Lightning Thief,the first entry into hisPercy Jackson series, clocked in at around 5 hours and 6 hours, respectively.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the first book in Holly Jackson’s young adult mystery crime series which follows Pip as she investigates a murder that has captured the attention of her small town, also made the list with a reading time of 6 hours and 40 minutes.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

On the opposite end, Stephanie Garber’sCaraval, Cassandra Clare’sCity of Bones,and Taylor Jenkins’ Reid’sThe Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugoall made the list for slowest reads. Two of author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s novelsFrom Blood and AshandA Kingdom of Flesh and Firebroke the top 5 list, clocking in at 8 hours and 10 hours, respectively.
