While this was her first performance at the convention, Pink, 44, has long been vocal about her political views.
In November, the pop star teamed up with the non-profitPEN Americato give away thousands of banned books at her concerts in Florida. The books she chose to give away include themes of racial and sexual identity.
Her decision to give away the books came after the state implemented laws limiting free speech in education in recent years, such as the Individual Freedom Act, which was passed in July 2022 and limits how systemic racism and discrimination is taught in schools and the workplace, per theACLU. In 2023,Governor Ron DeSantisalso signed the“Don’t Say Gay” billinto legislation to limit discussion of LGBTQ+ topics in schools.

“When lines of tomorrow are drawn / Can I live with the side that I chose to be on? / Will we sit on our hands, do nothing about it? / Or will we leave this world better than we found it?” she sang. “America, America, divided we fall / America, America, God save us all / From ourselves and the Hell that we’ve built for our kids / America, America, we’re better than this.”
