Investigators said they reviewed the video the two women made, which showed them “laughing, dancing and lip-synching” to a song before the violence transpired, the affidavit states. In the video, police noted that Lee’s body fell out of the frame of the camera and smoke was “hanging in the room” before the video was shut off.
The witness allegedly told police that Lee and Thompson had “a toxic relationship” and were “always at odds” with each other, the affidavit states. She also claimed that Lee once told her that if she was ever found dead it would be “Joshua [that] killed her."
Floyd County Prosecutor Chris Lane toldWHAS11, “We take domestic violence allegations seriously. And we’re taking them seriously in this case.” He added, “Unfortunately this is not unusual for these allegations and circumstances, relationships can lead to tragic results and unfortunately the allegations are that’s what happened."

Thompson’s brother told investigators that the 25-year-old called him “crying and distraught” and sought advice from him, according to the affidavit.
Thompson then allegedly called police and told them that he “shot the mother of his child,” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit alleges the handgun was recovered outside the window along with a single shell casing.
Thompson is currently being held without bond at the Floyd County Jail, according toWAVE.
He is facing additional charges including invasion of privacy, criminal recklessness and unlawful carrying of a handgun, per the outlet.
It’s not immediately clear if he has entered pleas to the charges or retained an attorney.
