Rashida Jones Pays Tribute to Her Father Quincy Jones After His Death at 91: 'It Is an Honor to Be Your Daughter'

Rashida Jonesis honoring her fatherQuincy Jonesafter hisdeath at age 91.

“He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created,” the statement continued. “Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for eternity.”

In hisfinal instagram post, shared on the same day he died, Quincy sent aloving birthday message to his daughter Martinaas she celebrated turning 58.

“Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena@martinafotos1!! 🎉. So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally 🫶🏾💜,” Quincy wrote alongside a sweet photo of the pair smiling.

During his illustrious career, which spanned more than 75 years, Quincy worked as a producer and arranger with the likes ofFrank Sinatra,Paul Simon,Aretha FranklinandMichael Jackson, including producing Jackson’s iconic 1982 hit “Beat It.”

The music great won his first Grammy in 1963 for his Count Basie arrangement of “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” His 28 wins make him the second most Grammy-awarded artist in history, and he has been nominated a record 80 times since 1961.

His long history of humanitarian work included being a co-producer on the 1985 charity single “We Are the World," which raised more than $60 million for famine relief in Ethiopia.
