Rita Wilson Remembers Dressing as Son Colin Hanks One Year for Halloween — Beard and All

AlthoughRita Wilsonhas had many great Halloween costumes, there’s one in particular that takes the cake.

“Halloween is just around the corner and we go mad for Halloween around here,” Ripa says. “The only thing that rivals our show and our aesthetic at Halloween would be every person in L.A. because they really do big Halloween. And they’re all movie industry people so they build sets, they’ve got special effects.”

“They do, they do! And you walk down sometimes a neighborhood and go, ‘Oh my God, that is the best Brad Pitt costume,’ " Wilson says. “Uh…it’s Brad Pitt. That actually happened to me one night. And he was with the best Bono costume — and it was Bono.”

Asked if she celebrates Halloween and if she’ll put on a Rita Wilson costume, Wilson says she does take part in the spooky holiday.

“Well actually one year, I didn’t want to get a full costume so I did dress as my older son, Colin,” Wilson shares. “I put on a hoodie — he wore a hoodie and Dickies back then, that was his style. A backwards baseball cap and he had a little scruffy beard so I did some speckling.”

“Did he appreciate that?” Consuelos asks.

“Maybe? But the kids did!” Wilson says.

Wilson shares her sons Chet and Truman with husband Tom Hanks. She is stepmom to Hanks' son Colin, 46, and daughter Elizabeth, 42, whom he shares with ex-wife Samantha Lewes.

In January, Hanks wasphotographed with Wilson and their sons Chet and Trumanas they walked the red carpet at theMasters of the Airpremiere. Hanks, who served as executive producer of the series, placed a hand on Chet’s arm as he stood next to Wilson.

Truman stood on the other side of his mom, posing with his hands in his pockets.
