Carpenter is on top of the world right now. She just released herlatest albumShort n' Sweetin August, which is where fans can find her VMAs-nominated tracks. In an interview withApple Music’s Zane Lowein August, she said the title of the album wasn’t just about her height.
“I called itShort n' Sweetfor multiple reasons. It was not because I’m vertically challenged,” Carpenter said. “I thought about some of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I’ve ever had, and they affected me the most.”
Some of the people closest to Carpenter have openly hyped the album, including her on-again-off-again love interest Barry Keoghan — whopraised it on Instagram in August— and bestie Joey King.
King told PEOPLE during New York Fashion Week that"Don’t Smile" is actually just “perfect"but she rotates between which song is her favorite on any given day.
