At the time, the “Toxic” singerwrote, “Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned.”

Universal Pictures purchased the rights to Spears' bestselling 2023 memoirThe Woman in Meafter what was a “highly competitive auction,” according to a press release. No casting for the film has been announced yet, butWickeddirector Jon M. Chu is attached to helm the film, while Platt is set to produce.
Asghari and Spears first began dating in 2017 before they tied the knot in 2022. The two split in August 2023, but in April, Asghari told PEOPLEhe doesn’t regret the time he spent with Spears.

“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” he said at the time.
The actor continued, “I’ve always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] — so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.”
“That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that’s always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life," Asghari added.
