At the Los Angeles premiere on July 11, Edgar-Jones told PEOPLE about training for the physically demanding disaster film.
“There was physical training and then mental training to try and remember as many complicated weather jargon wordy things that I could,” she said. “A lot of just, honestly, running, because I ran a lot in the film. I think no sort of amount of training can prepare you for what it will feel like to have an actual airplane jet engine pointed at you and wind and rain and debris thrown at you. It was definitely an extreme filming experience.”
She added, “It’s not my strong suit, running, but I’m getting better. … But, to be honest, it was just sort of pretending to be scared and trying to feel what that would be in your body.”
Twistersis in theaters now, and available to own or rent on digital.
