Selena Gomez Calls Benny Blanco a 'Complete Light' in Her Life: 'I've Never Been Loved This Way'

Benny Blancohas brightened upSelena Gomez’s life.

In a cover story interview withVanity Fairon Sept. 9, Gomez opened up about herrelationship with Blanco, how it’s altered her view of love and the possibility of marriage.

“I’ve never been loved this way,” says theEmilia Pérezstar, 32, who’s been publicly dating Blanco, 36, since December 2023 — years after they first collaborated on songs including 2015’s “Same Old Love” and 2019’s “I Can’t Get Enough.”

“He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life,” added Gomez. “He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

Both musicians have been public about their growing feelings for one another, and Blanco expressed wanting to marry Gomez during an interview with SiriusXM’sThe Howard Stern Showin May. “He can’t lie,” the singer and actress toldVanity Fair.

“After the interview, I was dying laughing,” she recalled. “Like, ‘Anything else you wanted to put out there?'”

Gomez, however, isn’t rushing into marriage with Blanco. “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules,” she said. “I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”

If they do get married, she has one caveat: “I’m not changing my name no matter what. I am SelenaGomez.That’s it.”

The “Rare” performer is currently gearing up to play Jessi Del Monte in the upcoming filmEmilia Pérez, and she recently shared a clip of her performing the song “Mi Camino” in the movie.

“A little sneak peek of the song ‘Mi Camino’ that I performed inEMILIA PÉREZ. In select theaters this November and on @Netflix November 13 in the U.S., U.K. and Canada,” she wrote onInstagram, teasing the film’s release date.
