Shaun White Shares Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse of Emotional Proposal to Nina Dobrev: ‘Still Floating After This Night’

The Olympic snowboarder, 36, shared behind-the-scenes footage onInstagramof the proposal at the Golden Swan restaurant in New York City in late October, along with their afterparty celebration with family and friends to celebrate.

In the video, he can be heard telling an emotional Dobrev, 34, “Being with you is the adventure of my life” and “I love you.” She can be seen sobbing as he finally gets down on one knee to ask her, “Will you marry me?”

The actress nodded her head and said, “Yes,” as the athlete rose to hug and kiss her. He then got back down on his knee as he noted he “forgot” to actually put the ring on her finger. “Oh yeah!” she responded before they both burst out laughing. The clip ended with him putting the ring on and kissing her hand.

The pair, who began dating in 2019, popped some champagne before their family and friends entered the restaurant. Shaun tossed white petals up as their family members cheered and congratulated them. TheDegrassialum held up her new engagement ring as she hugged her loved ones, and the video ended with a champagne toast.

“Still floating after this night! I’m beside myself to be with this amazing woman and to be joining her beautiful family!!” Shaun captioned the post.

Dobrev shared additional details about the engagement withVogue, revealing that the Olympian had his publicist send Dobreva fake invitationfor an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner withAnna Wintour. However, instead of Wintour, she found White ready to propose. “He said all the right things," she recalled to the outlet.

White first sharedthe happy newson Instagram with a series of photos captured after she said yes with the caption: “She said YES.”

Dobrev reshared thesame photoson Instagram, writing, “RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé.”
