TheOlympic gymnastand theChicago Bears playerofficially met for the first time in March 2020, but they coincidentally crossed paths months before that.

In January 2022, Biles recounted the time she was invited to lead the Houston Texans out of the tunnel during a home football game in December 2019. Ironically, Owens could be seen in the background of her photos from that day.

The coupletied the knoton April 22, 2023, at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston. A few weeks later, they hosted a second wedding celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Recently,Owens cheered Biles onas she and Team USA won gold at the 2024 Olympics women’s gymnastics team finals.

Despite Biles and Owens' close encounter during the Texans game in 2019, the two officially met via the dating app Raya in March 2020 — and it was Biles who made the first move.

“He would say I slid into his DMs,” the gymnast told theWall Street Journal. “I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.”

Although both are well-known athletes, Owens wasn’t familiar with Biles at first. “I didn’t know who she was,” he toldTexas Monthlyin June 2021. “I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.”

Since Biles and Owens met at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were able to spend a lot of time together while they had time off — a perk that the busy athletes don’t typically have with their packed schedules.

“It was one of the few times in [Simone’s] life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything,” Owens toldToday. “So we used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now I’m so thankful.”

Biles toldAccess Hollywoodthat the two would alternate going to each other’s houses and their dogs would play while they would hang out. “We kind of had that time to ourselves, see if we like each other… and it kinda worked,” Biles said. “We kind of were just like magnets.”

During a February 2022 interview withToday, Owens reflected on the exact moment he began to fall for Biles, saying, “[It was] probably about a month in, when we were really kind of hanging out every weekend.”

He added, “We just kind of started hanging out more and more and you start to want to see a person… I started to want to see her more.” Owens didn’t fail to note, “My dog really loved her.”

“He’s a real man… I just, I love him. We have a great time together,” she said.

“Our personalities match right up,” Biles added. “We have the same sense of humor. And he’s just great. He’s an athlete, too, so we really understand each other and I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless.”

July 7, 2022: Jonathan Owens celebrates Simone Biles on receiving a Presidential Medal of Freedom

To date, Biles is theyoungest person to ever receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom— and Owens couldn’t be more proud of his fiancée.

Biles appeared in an NFL kickoff video, celebrating the 103rd pro football season, wearing a Houston Texans jersey — the team her fiancé, Owens, plays for.

October 17, 2022: Simone Biles hosts a dress try-on party for bridesmaids

While in Austin, Texas,Biles' bridesmaids had a dress fittingat a local boutique called Revelry.

Biles and Owens, who are big Houston Astros fans,attended the first game of the seriesagainst the Philadelphia Phillies. But the couple weren’t just spectators, Biles was also there to serve a special purpose.

On a stadium microphone, the Olympic gymnast kicked off the game with baseball’s traditional starting phrase: “Let’s play ball.”

I’ve grown so much as a person since we’ve been together, shown me a different side of myself. Your energy and smile is so addicting, i just can’t get enough of you.”

April 14, 2023: Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles obtain their marriage license

Owens and Biles' wedding is right around the corner. The coupleobtained their marriage licensein Texas, which can be done up to 90 days before the ceremony.

Two days later, Biles shared on her Instagram Story that she was picking up her wedding dresses from the bridal shop.

April 22, 2023: Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles get married

The coupletied the knotduring an intimate courthouse wedding in Texas.

“I do 🤍 officially owens 🤍,” Biles captioned a series of photos on Instagram. Owens published a similar post and wrote: “My person, forever ❤️💍.”

The Olympian dazzled in a halter-style wedding dress with tiered tulle, while Owens looked handsome in a tan suit.

May 4, 2023: Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles travel to Mexico for their second wedding

Owens and Biles aregetting married (again) in Mexico. According to the gymnast’s Instagram Story, the couple hopped on a plane to the sunny locale with various family and friends, including their officiant, “Uncle Paul.”

Earlier that week, Biles explained why she and Owens had a courthouse wedding in April.

“We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S. since our wedding will be a destination wedding,” she told her followers.

May 6, 2023: Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles get married for a second time

Biles and Owenstied the knot again during a luxurious ceremonyin Cabo San Lucas.

The 144-guest event featured lush florals, champagne, and gold and white décor. The bride wore four different dresses during the celebration while her new husband was seen in a tan-colored suit and bowtie.

“I actually felt so sick the entire day, and when it was almost time to walk, my heart was beating out of my chest,” Bilesrecalled in an interview withVogue. “I’ve never been so nervous before in my life.”

Biles supported Owensduring his first preseason game with the Packers. She cheered him on from the stands and shared footage of the event on her Instagram Story.
