In an appearance on TheTonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 11-time Olympic medalist shared that the superlative provokes an array of emotions from fans and haters — and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
During her spot on the late-night talk show on Wednesday, Sept. 4, the gymnast donned a brown pantsuit with a neckline that showed off her diamond-encrusted G.O.A.T. necklace — an accessoryshe first debuted after winning gold in the all-around finalat the Paris Olympics.

“At the end of the day, it is crazy that I’m in the conversation of greatest of all time athletes, because I still think I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas, that loves to flip,” she told reporters, including PEOPLE, at the time.
OnFallonWednesday, the most decorated female gymnast of all time further reflected on the sparkly nature of the nickname, but said she hopes her legacy outshines her accomplishments.
“I mean, I feel like throughout gymnastics as long as I’m inspiring the next generation and having fun and just making sure that it’s not all about winning but still putting a good foot forward even when it doesn’t go your way, I think that’s what I would want it to be,” Biles said.
