Simone Bilesis taking care of herself.
The Olympic gymnast, 27, appeared with aprotective boot on her left legin an NBC interview on Monday, Aug. 5, after taking a tumble during the warm-up to her women’s floor exercise final.
Biles told NBC’s Mike Tirico that she had “a little bit of soreness” to her calf and the boot was for “precautionary” reasons, perToday.
“Calf is good. It’s just precautionary, making sure, because we still have (a) tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff,” Biles said. “So, just a little bit of soreness.”
“I feel like elite athletes are pretty tough, so we’re just, through pain or pleasure, we’re ready for whatever,” she continued.

Tirico then showed Biles footage of her fall during her warmups to the Olympic floor finals, where sheclaimed a silver medal— her 11th Olympic medal overall.
“So mainly, what you’re seeing here is, I was just trying to over-rotate for good measure, and I did just that and almost knocked (coach) (Cecile Landi) on out. But it was good,” Biles said, perToday.

“She did well. It’s day eight. She’s a little tired, and emotionally and physically it’s been a long week,” Landi told reporters, including PEOPLE, after Biles’ floor final.
“She made mistakes on floor, but I mean, you make a mistake, you’re still a silver medalist. It’s pretty cool. It was just her calf a little flaring up during the warm-up. We warmed up and waited a while in the hallway, so I think she was a little bit coldish and so when she punched the first time, there was a little bit of pain. But afterwards, she felt fine.”
