Sister Wives: Janelle Visits ‘Beautiful’ Montana Property as Her Daughter Maddie Says It’s 'Smart' She Wants to Move

Janelle Brownis scoping out a potential new home in Montana!

During the Sunday, Sept. 22 episode ofSister Wives, the TLC star visits a massive 40-acre lot with her pregnant daughter Maddie — whom she shares with her ex-husbandKody Brown— and Maddie’s two children. The mother-daughter duo meet with a real estate agent to check out the plot where Maddie is considering building a home for her family to live in, including her mom Janelle.

“I love this property and I know Maddie does too. It’s like everything that we had wanted in a piece,” Janelle says. “We’re not farmers, we’re not ranchers, but we want to live that rural lifestyle. A couple animals, maybe a greenhouse. Pretty basic.”

Referring to the Ennis, Mont. location, Janelle adds, “This part of Montana. It’s just beautiful. There’s a big river that runs through here, and there’s a lake that’s not far away, and I just think it’s wonderful.”

As Janelle continues to explore the property, she notes that the “price is really good” but it’s located 40 minutes from town, meaning it would be a long commute for her grandchildren to get to school each day.

Despite her potential new home’s isolated location, Janelle says another reason that makes the site “really great” is that it’s not too far from her fellow sister wife Christine Brown’s home in Utah.

“I do think it’s smart for you to move away from Flagstaff,” says Maddie, who isn’t on good terms with her dad at the moment.

Referring to Maddie’s husbandCaleb and their children, Janelle later explains in a confessional-style clip: “Cody really did kind of cut off communication with Caleb and Maddie when the family started to really dissolve, and the kids really don’t know who he is. He’s not been out to visit. He doesn’t call.”

She continues, “Maddie and Caleb don’t really have much relationship with him."

“To be honest with you, I didn’t really cut off communications with Madison,” Kody says. “She cut it off with me. Every time I talked to her, it was a fish for gossip and I got tired of it.“
