Slipknot's Sid Wilson Hospitalized with 'Serious Burns' from Bonfire 'Explosion': 'I'm Hanging in There'

Slipknot’sSid Wilsonis in recovery after he was seriously burned.

The musician, 47, shared in aserious of videos on Instagramthat he was hospitalized with “serious burns” following a bonfire “explosion” while working on his farm.

“Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face,” Wilson — who is dating and has a son withKelly Osbourne— said in avideo postedon Friday, Aug. 23. “I’m OK. I’m gonna be OK. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.”

He spoke to the camera while wearing an oxygen tube and lying in a hospital bed as medical staff treated his injuries. Throughout various moments of the video, the staff could be seen asking Wilson to sit up and breathe as they dressed his wounds and took his vitals.

“You can see the phone shaking. That’s ‘cause I am holding it and I am shaking. They’re doing some extra X-rays to make sure I didn’t inhale any flames,” Wilson continued.

“You see I’m singed over there,” he then said, pointing to his cheek. “My eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arm is pretty bad — both my arms.”

The rocker noted that he is going to be “alright” and told fans that he doesn’t care “what it takes” but that he would “see” them “on tour.”

In afollow-up videoposted a few hours later, Wilson could be seen riding inside of what looked like an ambulance with bandages wrapped around his neck. He explained that he was being transported “to another facility” where they had better equipment to treat his burns.

“But everyone, I’m OK. I’m OK… I’m a trouper. Not exactly, but I’m hanging in there pretty good,” he reassured fans, adding: “I’m in good hands. I just wanted to come on here and let everybody know that I’m OK. Obviously if I’m on here talking to you the way I am, it’s not terrible.”

He then responded to questions from fans about the incident, including how he sustained the burns. He said he got the burns not from “a show” but from a “bonfire” on his farm that still had some “leftover” flames. “I got a little whoosh — fire,” he explained, noting that he had been “working on the farm” at the time.

“I’ll be in L.A. — this ain’t gonna stop me,” Wilson added, referring to his band’s upcomingsold-out showsin California on Sept. 13 and Sept. 14.

Slipknot also has concerts in Oklahoma, Washington and Indiana in the next upcoming weeks. The band’s website did not say whether those shows would be rescheduled as Wilson recovers. Slipknot is currently scheduled to perform at the Rocklahoma event on Sept. 1.
