After the results from the2024 presidential election, the latest episode ofSaturday Night Livekicked off on a serious note — but things soon took a comedic turn.
“And that is why we atSNLwould like to say to Donald Trump, we… have been with you all along,” Thompson said a short while later.
The four cast members then began to jokingly praise the president-elect, with Yang saying that he and his cast mates have “never wavered” in their support.
Cast membersSarah ShermanandMarcello Hernándezalso joined in to confirm that “every single person” on stage voted for him, asColin Jostnoted in faux seriousness that while Trump says “controversial” things, he’s really just speaking the “truth,” before playfully laying blame on his Weekend Update co-anchorMichael Che.
“And I hate how the lamestream media,Michael Che, tries to spin it to make you look foolish,” Jost joked.
Thompson then noted that if Trump was “keeping some sort of list of your enemies then…”
“… We should not be on that list,” Hernández finished for him.
After the cast discussed how they had all voted for Trump and highlighted that three new cast members had not, Sherman saidSNLwas “so excited” to debut its “new” impression of the president-elect, which she called, “hot jacked Trump.”
Johnson, who has been portraying Trump all season so far, then appeared on stage with a slimmer look, black tank top, red bandana and some noticeably larger, fake muscles.
“That’s right, that’s right. It’s me, hot jacked Trump. They finally got the body right,” Johnson as Trump said.
“But for now on, we’re going to do a very flattering portrayal of Trump because he’s, frankly, my hero. And he’s going to make an incredible president and eventually, king! We love you, buddy,” he continued.
Later in the skit, Thompson reassured viewers that “if our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man that we love and trust, Elon Musk.”

At that point, an excitableDana Carvey— who has previously portrayed PresidentJoe Bidenthis season — appeared on stage jumping up and down as Musk in a “Dark MAGA” hat, wearing an outfit reminiscent of the same one the billionaire wore to a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in October.
“Seriously, I run the country now,” Carvey’s Musk said.
“America’s going to be like one of my rockets, you know? They’re super cool and super fun. But there’s a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies.”
After some mid-air “USA” chants, Carvey left the stage and the rest of the cast began to sing a version Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.” addressing the “young men” who helped elect Trump.
