Snoop Doggis a devout family man, but one thing he’s learned is when to involve his family in his endeavors and when to keep them out.

The rap legend launched a new fine jewelry collection in collaboration with Metal Alchemist and gamma. and as with a lot of his work, his family is at the heart of it all.

And while his wife, kids, and grandkids are part of the inspiration behind the line, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker said they were nowhere near the creation of the actual pieces.

“They don’t need to get an opinion in because then we would never get the line out,” he joked to reporters while at the Lovechild launch held at Passes in Hollywood, Calif., on Nov. 13.

“Too many motherf—ing chefs in the kitchen … This is a partnership, so my family’s energy is me. I bring their energy to the table. I know what my wife, kids, grandkids [want]. I’m a representation of them because I’m the king of the family. So it’s my job to make sure that it’s represented the right way,” he explained.

He continued, “It’s more about me, drawing my energy and bringing it to the table so that we don’t have so many people in the kitchen cooking. That’s when the meal gets thrown off — when everybody wants to put something on the grill. We got steaks on the grill and somebody wants to put a wiener on there, it’s not gonna add up.”
