South Korean Actor Song Jae-rim Dies in His Seoul Apartment at 39

South Korean actor Song Jae-rim has died at the age of 39.

According to multiple outlets includingCNNandThe Korea Herald, the former model turned actor was found dead in his apartment in Seoul on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

“Our initial investigation so far, has revealed no signs of criminal activity,” police told CNN. “Since the family did not want an autopsy, we will proceed with transferring the deceased to his family’s custody.”

Jae-rim’s breakout role was in the 2009 movieActresses,according toVariety. He then starred in 20 episodes in the 2012 dramaMoon Embracing the Sun, before appearing in the 2014 reality showWe Got Married.

The outlet added that the star’s final appearance was a leading role in the Yang Tae-jin-directed action-comedy filmGet Rich,which started post-production in late September.

“This is mad… Jae-lim… you were such a cheerful guy… I can’t believe this. I’m so sorry for not contacting you or caring for you enough,” actor Park Ho-sanpostedon Instagram, alongside a photo of the pair together in a bar.

“I’m sad that I can’t see your wonderful smile again,” the actorHong Seok-cheonadded in his post.

“This situation is devastating where I can’t take care of them better and I have to let them go without greeting them ……. Sorry and again sorry………. Rest in peace.”

Jae-rim’s lastInstagram postfeatured mirror-selfie headshots on January, 23, alongside the caption, “😷.”
