On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the “Tonight” singer also spoke about his support for Vice PresidentKamala Harris.
“I live in California, so I’ve gotten to watch her run for election multiple times,” Legend said of Harris in an interview withCBS Mornings. “And seen how smart and charismatic and empathetic and how ready she is for this, she’s prepared herself for this role.”
He added: “She is eminently qualified to be president. And then she also has the right character traits I think to be a great president, which means she cares about people’s lives, wants government to work for people and improve their lives.”

“When lines of tomorrow are drawn / Can I live with the side that I chose to be on? / Will we sit on our hands, do nothing about it? / Or will we leave this world better than we found it?” the country star sang. “America, America, divided we fall / America, America, God save us all / From ourselves and the Hell that we’ve built for our kids / America, America, we’re better than this.”
