OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A 15-year-old student was in critical condition after he was shot at Omaha Northwest High School on Tuesday afternoon, according to Omaha Police.

Omaha Police responded to a shooting at the Omaha Northwest High School, they said in a statement on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sep. 10.

“There is reported to be one victim at this time,” Omaha Policesaidin their statement on X (formerly Twitter).

“There was a 15-year-old shot and we took a suspect into custody,” Omaha police officer Michael Pecha confirms to PEOPLE. “Students are being let out of the school at this time.”
