Sunny Hostin Says She’s 'in Grief’ After Becoming an Empty Nester but Jokes ‘I Am Stalking My Daughter Now’

Sunny Hostinis officially an empty nester.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the mom of two shared onThe Viewthat she had mixed feelings after dropping her 18-year-old daughter Paloma off at college. Hostin shares her daughter and her son Gabriel, 22, with husbandEmmanuel.

“I got to drop off my daughter at college and become an empty nester. And I’m a mess, I’m in grief. I have Kelly Ripa giving me advice,” Hostin said during the episode.

“I will say this. I am stalking my daughter now,” she teased. “I call her every day, I text her every day, and she finally said to me this morning, ‘Stop'”

“I will say, my husband is ecstatic, he thinks he can walk around the house naked now. He’s like, ‘I’ve got my wife back, let’s do date night.’ And I am sad,” she admitted.

In the video, Paloma said to her mom, “Hi mama, so let’s just ignore the fact that it’s dark out. And my hair. It’s very much past my bedtime. But I would like to wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. On top of that, I would like to thank you for really being my foundation, especially through junior year.”

“You taught me a really important lesson recently about men. We love them, yeah. To just remind me that they’re not special enough to make me feel that way and I think that’s a lesson I’m gonna think about for the rest of my life,” she continued.

“And thank you for supporting me in art, and everything that I’m interested in, and just overall being a great mother. So, thank you, I love you. Have a great day.”
