You should also try to avoid layering your pieces and having them touch, as this can increase the risk of scratching depending on the metal, notes Valentine. “For rings, I prefer them to be set horizontally between two cushions, rather than slip on vertically on a cushioned tube — this will prevent touching and scratching,” she adds.
