Thenew Lego Icons Poinsettia setis the latest entry in the toy company’s surprising bid to dominate theartificial flowermarket. The kit has 608 pieces that create a bouquet of poinsettias in a woven basket pot. The vibrant red plastic flowers will become a conversation piece in your holiday decor display that never loses its bloom.

It’s already abest-seller at Amazon, where you can get the cozy little set for $50.

This decorative set joinsLego’s Thanksgiving centerpieceof realistic-looking dried flowers as one you’d be proud to put out when you have guests during the holidays. On a personal note: My wife will be happy she can finally put out a pot of poinsettias at Christmas without worrying they willmake our cat sick.

Like all the Lego Botanical Collection kits, this one is recommended for builders ages 18 and up, but that’s more to appeal to adult shoppers than to reflect the difficulty of putting them together. My 6-year-old son has built four different Lego flower sets over the past couple of years — all recommended for adult builders — and had no trouble with any of them.
