The Perfect Couple’s Sam Nivola on Costar Meghann Fahy's Advice After Finding Out He Was JoiningThe White Lotus(Exclusive)

Sam Nivolasought advice fromMeghann Fahywhile waiting to check intoThe White Lotus.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE atThe Perfect Couplepremiere in Los Angeles on Sept. 4, Nivola, 20, shared his excitement for his upcoming role inMike White’s award-winning series and the words of wisdom he received from his costar andWhite Lotusalum.

“She just said strap in,” he shared. “I mean, funnily enough, I found out about getting cast in theWhite Lotuson the last day of this shoot when we were shooting [a] dance sequence.”

When Nivola told Fahy of the happy news, he recalled her being “so nice and congratulatory.”

“She gave me the lowdown on Mike White and what he’s like, because of course every director has their own sort of special quirks and ways that they go about doing things,” he continued. “But basically all she said is that he’s really nice and you really treats you well and you’re going to have a great time and you’re going to look f—ing awesome.”

While plot points have been kept under wraps, White previously confirmed that the new season will take a lens to eastern spirituality and religion when speaking abouteach season’s respective themesduring a featurette after the season 2 finale.

“The first season we highlighted money and then the second season is sex and I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality — it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round atWhite Lotus,” he explained.

In addition to Nivola, the cast will include Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, alton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood and BLACKPINK’s Lisa.

Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey, will also reprise her role for season 3.
