Tish Cyrus Reveals How Son Trace Really Feels About Superstar Sister Miley's Fame

Tish Cyrusis opening up about how sonTracehas navigated his superstar sister’s fame.In a Monday, Nov. 25 appearance onSibling Reverly with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, Tish got candid about the sibling dynamic.“He really just told me the other day, ‘I’ve always like, I’ve never been jealous ofMiley. I’ve always been grateful for the opportunities I get because of her,'” Tish, 57, told the podcast hosts of Trace.“I think that my kids have mostly seen it that way,” she continued. “I’m sure it’s hard to be… the Mileys of the world don’t come around very often.“Tish went on to call Disney a “machine” and pointed out that opportunities like Miley’s are like “winning the lottery.“Because of this, Tish made sure her kids understood the rarity of it as they were “getting into the business.““Not everybody gets to go in that way,” she concluded. “It’s harder because you have to work harder and do things differently and it’s just a completely different career path and a way into your career than the way Miley had with Hannah Montana.“In August 2023, Trace, 35, got candid in a Q&Aon his Instagram Storieswhere he offered some rare insight on how his famous familyimpacted his career.Tish Cyrus and Miley Cyrus in Los Angeles in February 2024.Neilson Barnard/GettyAt the time, he explained that though he loves his family “so much,” he believed his career may have been more successful if he hadn’t had his family connection.“I love my family so much, but I think I’d be much more successful if I wasn’t part of a famous family. People immediately want to judge me and discredit all my hard work because of who I’m related to. But that’s so far from the truth. I got a record deal without anyone from my label even knowing who I was related to ‘til after they signed me,” he wrote, referencing his former band Metro Station.He also reflected on the importance of protecting his romantic relationships at that stage in his life, perEntertainment Tonight. (He previously dated Brenda Song andDemi Lovato).“After having such public relationships in the past, I’ve decided any of my current or future relationships will be much more private,” the musician explained. “So even if I did have a girlfriend I wouldn’t tell you guys. Sorry.“Tish welcomed Trace and daughter Brandi, 37, with her first husband Baxter Neal Helson. Then, when she metBilly Ray Cyrus, they had three children together: Miley, 32, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24. Billy Ray also has a son, Christopher, 32, from his previous relationship with Kristin Luckey.Lately, Trace has been working on solo music and released his latest single, “On the Run,” in November.
