While the athletes left an impact on Brady, he surely is an inspiration to many — andmakes time to give backto those who look up to him too.
The all-star QB did just that during Fanatics Fest in partnership with Make-A-Wish when he met and passed a football with 12-year-old Christopher Sanchez to make his dreams come true.
“So I got to meet Chris today and he’s from South Florida, so we had a lot of things in common. He loves football. He’s the quarterback, so it’s just fun to hang with him,” Brady recalls to PEOPLE about the time he shared with Sanchez, who was first diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 6 years old.
According to Sanchez, his goal is to play for the NFL when he grows up. And upon hearing that young fan — who is now in remission — dreams of following in his footsteps, Brady sweetly says, “Wow, I love that.”
Looking back on Sanchez’s QB skills, Brady says, “He did really well. He’s actually throwing the ball good. He’s got a shot. He’s a good little athlete.”
