Betty White’s face will be gracing postage stamps soon!
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced thestamp designs for 2025on Friday, Nov. 15, revealing that one of the stamps will be a portrait ofThe Golden Girlsstar, who died in 2021 at the age of 99.
“An icon of American television, Betty White … shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades — including roles onThe Golden GirlsandThe Mary Tyler Moore Show,” USPS said in a statement. “The comedic actor, who gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s, was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals.”
Dale Stephanoscreated the digital illustration of White used for the stamp, which was based on Kwaku Alston’s 2010 photograph of the actress, while USPS art director Greg Breeding designed the overall stamp.
Stephanos shared the news onInstagramon Friday, posting an image of the stamp along with the caption, “So excited to share the news that my@bettymwhitestamp for the@uspostalservicewill be released soon. I’d love to send a letter back to my 18-year-old self with this stamp on it and tell him that everything is going to be OK.”
The icon was a beloved comedy fixture for fans and fellow actors alike, with many posting heartfelt messages about her after her death.
“The world looks different now,“Ryan Reynolds— who starred with White in 2009’sThe Proposal— wrote onX (formerly Twitter)at the time. “She was great at defying expectation.”

President Joe Biden called White an “American treasure” during an appearance on a2022 NBC tributeto the comedian.
“She challenged conventions,” Biden added. “With every laugh and smile she opened our hearts. But above all, she moved our souls, and the soul of our nation. What a gift we’ll always treasure. God bless you, Betty. We all love you.”
Other USPS 2025 stamp designs include an Allen Toussaint stamp to commemorate “the virtuoso pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer,” a Year of the Snake design to mark theLunar New Yearand an Appalachian Trail series, among other designs.
“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” Lisa Bobb-Semple, Stamp Services director for USPS, said in a statement.
USPS added that more stamps will be announced in the coming weeks.
