News thatThe White Lotushad beenrenewed for a third seasoncame just three episodes after season 2 premiered in October 2022, causing fans to speculate possible plot points and potential characters to make their return.

And while he knows he has to be “very, very careful” to not “reveal anything” about what’s to come, Goggins teased to PEOPLE in June that the season 3 script “ran the gamut.”

“Mike himself has said what he’s said about season one and what that represents and what season two represents,” he said of the show’s creator. “Season 3, without putting words in his mouth, will represent something very, very, very specific and, for my money,will resonate deeply to a very big audience, and certainly with the fans of what he does.”

The actor went on to say “there’s a lot of pressure” in being part of a show that has become “a cultural juggernaut” — but he feels so fortunate to be involved.
