The Vampire Diariesis well known for its dramatic storylines and love triangles, but who from Mystic Falls most resembles your zodiac sign?

According to astrologer Valerie Mesa, the show’s release date also has astrological meaning. When the show premiered on the CW on Sept. 10, 2009,Uranus(the cosmic rule-breaker and planet of rebellion and innovation) was transiting the fantasy-loving sign ofPisces, which Mesa says “was a time of creative experimentation, rich imagination and radical mysticism, which goes hand in hand with the supernatural genre” of the series.

Aries: Caroline

Taurus: Stefan

For the most part, Stefan is “grounded and practical in his pursuits,” aligning him with the Taurus zodiac sign. “He is also loyal and dependable, doing everything in his power to keep his word, which goes hand-in-hand with Taurus’ ruling element, Earth,” Mesa explains. “On the dark side, however, Stefan struggles with blood lust, resembling Taurus’ shadow side of selfishness and indulgence.”

Gemini: Damon

Geminis are known to have two sides to them, much like Damon’s character. As Mesa points out, he is “clever and often quite mischievous in his approach, but he’s also very resourceful when there’s a problem to be solved, which is very mercurial.” Though he can be reckless as a vampire, underneath it all, he has a sensitive side, which is very Gemini.

Cancer: Jeremy

As someone who is “sensitive and emotionally depleted,” Mesa notes that Jeremy Gilbert resembles the moon-ruled Cancer sign “in more ways than one.” Not only does he navigate profound loss and complex feelings, but Mesa adds that he possesses the protective nature of the zodiac as he looks out for his sister Elena.

Leo: Tyler

Tyler is shown to be the leader of his pack, making him in line with the Leo sign. “He also has the tendency to get angry easily (especially while navigating the changes of becoming a werewolf) resembling Leo’s passion and rage,” Mesa notes, adding that his love triangle drama throughout the series is also “very Leo-like, as this Fire sign is typically feisty in the love department.”

Virgo: Matt

Matt is a Virgo through and through as he perfectly embodies the traits of the zodiac “through his unwavering devotion, kindness and selflessness,” according to Mesa. “He consistently puts the needs of his friends above his own and is always ready to lend a helping hand, which is very Virgoan,” Mesa adds.

Libra: Elena

Elena is always setting out to do what’s right, which perfectly resembles the justice-seeking Libra. “Relationships are also a big part of her life, naturally resembling that of Libra’s planetary ruler, Venus,” Mesa notes. Despite all the chaos in her life, she always manages to find some sort of balance, much like this zodiac sign.

Scorpio: Katherine

“Intense, mysterious and manipulative, Katherine is the epitome of a Scorpio,” Mesa notes. Like the Water sign, “she’s cunning, strategic and will stop at nothing to get what she wants.” Also like Scorpio’s planetary ruler, Pluto (Lord of the Underworld), “Katherine initially hides in the shadows but goes to great lengths to seek revenge,” Mesa adds.

Sagittarius: Bonnie

Bonnie is often shown to have a passion for exploration, which Mesa says is very Jupiterian. “Jupiter is the planet of wisdom, spirituality and self-discovery, and Bonnie never ceases to dive headfirst into the supernatural world around her,” Mesa says. “Like Sagittarius signs, she’s on an eternal quest for truth.”

Early in the series, she grapples with her reality as Damon compels her, which Mesa says resembles Pisces’ illusion-stirring planetary ruler, Neptune. Mesa adds that “in addition to being the planet of dreams and subconscious realms, Neptune dissolves all boundaries between the spirit realm and the physical realm,” and “its energy can be deceptive and fantasy-like,” similar to what Vicki experiences on the show.
