Jennifer Lopez’s engagement ring fromBen Affleckwas designed with many details symbolic of the couple’s love story.

The 55-year-old singer, actress and entrepreneur, whofiled for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20after two years of marriage, previously opened up about the meaning behind the ring.

“That’s how he would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere,'" Lopez revealed in an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music after her and Affleck’s July 2022 nuptials.

The couple rekindled their romance in April 2021, 17 years after breaking off their engagement in 2004. (Affleck proposed with a6-carat radiant-cut pink diamond ringfrom Harry Winston at the time.) In April 2022,Affleck proposed to Lopezfor a second time.

Lopez shared the happy news via herOn the JLo newsletter.“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” theAtlasstar wrote. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.”

“It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined…just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other,” she continued.

The star also shared that “green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be.”

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022 and hosted a larger wedding in Georgia the following month.

Afterreports of tensionin the couple’s marriage began circulating in May 2024, Lopezofficially filed for divorceon Aug. 20.

“She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,” a source told PEOPLE of the actress. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”
