On Friday, Sept. 20, Bridget Curtis appeared in Swansea Crown Court in Wales, where she pleaded guilty to causing the death of infant Mabli Cariad Hall outside Withybush Hospital in June 2023, according to multiple UK outlets including theBBC,The GuardianandThe Independent. The BBC reports that she pleaded guilty.
Curtis is due in court next on Nov. 22, the outlets report.
The Dyfed-Powys Police and Swansea Crown Court did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional information on Friday.
“You will probably have understood already that the granting of bail and the asking of reports can’t carry any indication of the sentence that could be passed upon you," Walters said, per theGuardian. “You can have your bail until the day of sentence.”
Curtis' attorney John Dye told the court that his client was “absolutely devastated to be here,” surrendered her license after being charged in July and had a clean driving record with no previous convictions, per the BBC.

According to the outlet, Hall’s mother Gwen and father Rob — the latter of whom was also injured when his child was hit last year — were both present at the court alongside other family members. Gwen reportedly held a soft toy during the hearing.
“We would like to thank everyone who tried to help us at such a tragic time; the people who were there when it happened, the emergency services who came to our aid and the amazing staff at Withybush, the Heath in Cardiff and Bristol Children’s Hospital,” the family continued at the time. “Their strength and support allowed us to focus on Mabli.”
