A bride-to-be wasn’t going to waste her wedding party after catching her fiancé cheating.

31-year-old Lindsay Slater of Nottingham, England decided to host the $46,000 planned wedding party renaming it a ‘celebration of freedom’ after finding out that her former fiancé had an affair.

According toNew York Post, Slater had been with her partner for 12 years before discovering that he had cheated.

After the man left their family home after being confronted about the cheating, Slater canceled the ceremony - which had been scheduled for Saturday, Aug.17, but decided to use the reception party as a “celebration of freedom.”

The solicitor then messaged her guests about what happened and even made a Facebook post about it, perNYP.

Slater’s friend and maid of honor Beth also held up a sign that read, “and she lived happily ever after…”

”I didn’t know how I was going to survive. I was distraught — it was too late to go back on the wedding plans. All that money had been spent,” Slater told theNew York Post. “But there was a big part of me who thought ‘I’m free’ — it’s the start of a better era.”
