Woman Crashes Golf Cart Into Busy Restaurant, Hitting 'Tables Full of People Eating Dinner': Police

In the video, a female driver can be seen guiding the golf cart up a ramp into the restaurant before the vehicle crashes into customers seated in the dining room.

One woman was hospitalized and suffered a fractured pelvis in the accident, both news stations reported.

“If you look at the video, it’s pretty dramatic,” said Capt. Ruben Romero, of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, told WPBF. “You can see some people almost end up underneath the golf cart.”

“She did claim that she had taken a sip of an alcoholic beverage with dinner, but we did all our field sobriety tests,” Romero added. “We did all the testing that we do with our traffic and our DUI units, and the results came back that she was not intoxicated at the time.”

A representative with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional information.
