Zach Shallcrossis giving Bachelor Nation the answers it deserves.

“I’m sorry guys, it’s like anticlimactic,” Shallcross said, before asking Biggar if she wanted him to “really answer” the question.

“We just were not compatible at all. We both couldn’t really see a future with each other and why just go to the next week to try to figure it out then?” he recalled. “We both knew it wasn’t it, so…”

Shallcross added that “Rachel’s awesome, we’re all still friends to this day,” but “nothing exciting” went down in the fantasy suites.

Biggar joked in the post’s caption that she sprang the question on her fiancé “before his first cup of coffee.”

After he was sent home following his “anticlimactic” fantasy suite date with Recchia, Shallcross landed the role as the lead of his own season, and ended upproposing to Biggarin the season 27 finale last year.

The couple is still together and told PEOPLE following their engagement that they were in “no rush” to get married. “We have the rest of our lives together, so why does everything need to be a rush? It doesn’t,” Biggar said.

They also shared their plans to start a family one day, as Shallcross said he wanted “little ones running around — maybe one, maybe two.”

When it came to his season, Shallcross approached the fantasy suites week differently than previous leads had:he enacted a “no sex of any kind” policy. He later told PEOPLE he regretted that, as he ended up getting intimate with one of the three finalists — and it wasn’t Biggar.

“Looking back at it all, it’s tough to watch. It was the farthest thing from perfect. I was trying to make it as smooth as possible, and in the end it really just bit me in the ass,” he said, referring to his decision to be intimate withGabi Elnickibut not with Biggar orAriel Frenkel.

“It bit everyone in the ass. And that’s something that I will always remember, but work to get past. Those actions don’t define who I am.”

Biggar admitted, “That episode didn’t go the way I thought it was going to. But I think at the end of it, we came out stronger and that’s the only thing I could have wanted.”
