Zoë Kravitz Wants to Make More Movies with Channing Tatum: ‘Our Love Language’ (Exclusive)

Zoë Kravitzhopes she and fiancéChanning Tatumcan continue their professional relationship amid their personal one.

Kravitz, 35, directed Tatum, 44, in the new thrillerBlink Twice, and the two fell in love during the course of making the movie in 2022.

Asked if the two will collaborate again, Kravitz tells PEOPLE, “I hope so. I mean, I think that art is our love language. I think it’s what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other.”

InBlink Twice, which Kravitz also co-wrote, Tatum plays Slater King, a tech billionaire who’s trying to rehab his image after being accused of wrongdoing.

No spoilers here, but Frida begins to suspect something is very amiss — and she’s not wrong. Slater, it turns out, is not a very nice guy.

Watching the man she loves play a very bad dude was “awesome,” says Kravitz, who got engaged to Tatum last year. “It was awesome because he was doing such a good job, and as an actor, I’m like, ‘This is delicious stuff that he’s never gotten a chance to do.’ And also, he’s doing this part because he’s an ally. He wants to tell this story.”

“It’s the ultimate support to look horrible so that he can serve the story,” she continues.

Kravitz says she was filled with self-doubt while directing her first feature film, and Tatum was there to comfort her.

“After the first day of filming, I was just like, ‘Oh, my God. I don’t know what I’ve gotten myself into,’” she recalls. “And then the edit process was very long, and the movie did not work, for a very long time.”

“It was like this cycle,” she says. “There’d be good days, and bad days, and he just kind of had to be like, ‘Which version of Zoe is walking into the house today? Is she excited, or is she a puddle?’”

Tatumpreviously told PEOPLE about the rewards of tackling a tough projectwith a romantic partner.

“If you are thinking about having a kid or if you’re thinking about getting married, go find the hardest possible creative project with your partner,” he said while promoting the rom-comFly Me to the Moon.

“It was so hard to make the movie,” he continued. “Probably one of the hardest movies that I’ve worked on… for a lot of different reasons.”

“But when you can look across the room or the set and know that you have the best person that is next to you trying to solve problems, and you’re really looking to them for answers just as equally as trying to solve them yourself, that is unbelievable,” he added.

Blink Twiceis in theaters Friday, Aug. 23.
